ALIENQUEEN NFT Kicks of Links: Season 2 on Etherlink

This week she’s kicking off Links Season 2 on Etherlink: 3 big names in the NFT space are reimagining the iconic chain link emoji. ALIENQUEEN is an illustrator whose work blends psychedelics, dreams, love, and death, creating a mix of comfort and unease. Her surreal style turns the terrifying into the familiar and makes the ordinary feel strange.

Born a Cambodian refugee and now living in the U.S., her art is shaped by her family's experiences, exploring themes of love, mortality, and connection. Her vibrant, trippy illustrations are inspired by growing up in the '90s, themes of love and death, and occasionally, the current state of the world.

How would you describe your art in three words?

If your art had a soundtrack, what songs or artists would be on it?

Nirvana, Artemas, Lana del Rey, Grimes, Marilyn Manson, Sidewalks and Skeletons

What’s the weirdest or most unexpected thing that has inspired your work?

The weirdest thing ever was when I had an out-of-body experience that inspired me to create my piece 'Spirit Walking.'

Favorite Exhibition or drop that you’ve ever done?

My favorite exhibition was 'In My Mind', an immersive showcase at the NFC Summit in Lisbon, Portugal. Seeing my artwork displayed on such a massive scale was an incredible experience.

If you could own one piece of art, either from the web3 space or “trad” art space, what would it be?

It would be any piece by Yayoi Kusama.
