Minting NFTs with DEGEN: All About the Drops Powered by the SocialFi Community
This year's memecoins supercycle is going strong on Base. But when Rarible connected with the DEGEN community, we couldn't have foreseen the viral moments that would happen.
A month later, we have partnered with 15 artists and generated over 20K mints—while our users got to discover the Farcaster world.

DEGEN as in the Based token?
Yes, my well-informed friend. DEGEN is a reward token for users of Farcaster (the SocialFi app on Base). Utilizing a program called “tips”, Farcaster users can send DEGEN tokens to each other with a simple cast (aka post)—a way to reward creators and community members.
It powers the Degen chain, an Arbitrum Orbit-based Layer 3 that offers a platform for building and using dapps. And, of course, has one of the most fun communities in web3.
Rarible 🤝 DEGEN
Like many of the best modern stories, this collab began online—or should we say onchain? The Rarible and DEGEN communities connected on Farcaster and quickly collaborated to onboard artists to launch their NFT drops on Rarible.com.
Sentiment was so high that our devs integrated DEGEN as a supported cryptocurrency on Rarible marketplace, setting the stage for a series of drops that would unite our brands.
On the other side, the DEGEN team brought Stack—a points system platform—into their own initiative. Anyone who supported artists launching their drops on Rarible would receive points on the Stack leaderboard. And who doesn’t love a little competition?
