Polygon community marketplace builder is now live on Rarible!
Originally launched on Ethereum in August last year, the community marketplace builder lets any NFT collection owner independently create their own marketplace in just a few minutes with no coding involved and no fees charged by Rarible.
All community marketplaces have built-in liquidity via orders aggregated across biggest NFT marketplaces in the space (i.e. OpenSea, X2Y2, Rarible, LooksRare). So if your collection is listed on OpenSea, for instance, those same orders will be automatically displayed on your community marketplace.
Notably, in a time where many marketplaces make royalties optional, a community marketplace allows creators to secure this income stream by making sure the creator fee is always paid. That applies to all orders aggregated from other platforms—even the ones that allow creators to bypass royalties via their UI. Read more on that in our recent blog post.
Now back to Polygon. As you might know, Polygon is an Ethereum sidechain, i.e. a blockchain that leverages Ethereum's infrastructure while offering faster and cheaper transactions.
Having recently expanded our marketplace offering to Polygon by building a whiteglove platform for McFarlane digital collectibles, we're now thrilled to extend Polygon support to our community marketplace builder so that all creators can have access to it!

As usual, the process is as simple as it gets: Simply log into Rarible with the wallet that owns the collection, navigate to the collection and hit “create marketplace”.
After a few easy steps, your custom marketplace is finished!
Please keep in mind that unlike our Ethereum-based community marketplaces, the ones created on Polygon won’t have listings aggregated from other NFT marketplaces at first, although we're already working on adding OpenSea Polygon orders and we expect them to be live soon.
Meanwhile, after your Polygon marketplace is created, make sure to get the word out to your community to get some listings on the marketplace so that you can earn royalties and offer your community a custom, trustworthy and web3-native trading experience.
