Tell us a little about yourself…

For as long as I could hold a pencil - I've been an artist. It’s always hard to do these short bios because I feel like there are so many defining moments or influences that have led to the way that I share my creativity with the world, but put simply- If I’m not making SOMETHING, I feel sick to my stomach. I want to create in as many mediums as I can get my hands on, and make art that resonates with something unspoken in others. I want my work to be a mirror that points towards that… THING in somebody that initially made me gravitate towards art in the first place. I’ve always wanted to make things that make people feel like they can try to bring something new into the world too, something that makes people feel as seen as I’ve felt in studying the art that I love myself.

What’s the story behind this artwork?

At the end of the day, 'Divine Judgment' is just a drawing, right? I mean - I could try to intellectualize it further than that, to try and trick the interest of collectors, and there are definitely some recurring themes that I think I’ve been gravitating towards lately that you might notice in some of my other work - but really, I just started drawing and this is what came out. None of these characters had existed before I drew them, and now that they’re here I can definitely see them popping up in future works or in other mediums (sculptures, toys, plushes) but I think for now, the fact that they exist is enough.

If your art had a soundtrack, what songs or artists would be on it? 

Oh man, honestly it really depends on my mood. Music has been one of the other big inspirations in my life, and has played an almost integral role in my process of creation, so I feel like this might be the hardest question in the world to answer but if I had to make a little 5 song EP solely based on where my mind is at right now and what I’m listening to the most while making music:

If you could own one piece of art, either from the web3 space or “trad” art space, what would it be?

I'll do both, (with a runner up): If I could own ANY work, regardless of its current state/ownership, it'd be 'Collective Suicide' (1936) by David Alfaro Siqueiros - I stood in front of it transfixed for maybe 35 minutes during a trip to the MoMA in NYC. I look at a lot of art, but I don't know if a work has ever arrested me in the way that this one did. I HAVE to own it one day. Don't care how it happens. A close runner-up would be 'Guernica' by Pablo Picasso - it just makes me feel so many things! Ahhh it's so good. 

In the Web3 space, that's a tougher question actually - there's a lot of work that I love from artists that I admire and respect, but very few works that I NEED to own - if I had to choose, it'd probably be 'VII. Wormfood' by Sam Spratt. I've been a big fan of Sam's work since he was doing Game Informer covers, and Wormfood feels like a quintessential piece in his body of work.

What’s the weirdest or most unexpected thing that has inspired your work?

HA! I feel like this one's easy - the weirdest AND most unexpected thing that's ever inspired my own personal work has to be when I accidentally kicked a hole into a wall on Christmas morning, turned it into art, and sold it through SuperRare - at a time when I could barely afford my rent. It was a purely dumb-luck accident that sort of changed my life forever.

Favorite Exhibition or drop that you’ve ever done:

This one's tricky - I think a lot of the drops and Exhibitions that I've done have been fun, or personally touching in their own ways, but what comes to mind immediately is a show that I did in Brooklyn at DorDor Gallery that was curated by my good friend Max Kulchinsky. It was a Digital/Physical hybrid show, and It was my first time in New York too. To sell work and be surrounded by friends and people that are still really important to me today, was a dream. I wish that every gallery show could be like that.
